NP435 transfer case options

NP435 transfer case options
I have a NP435 out of a 1986 F-150 that I am planning to put behind the 302 (soon to be 351 and even farther into the future 460) in my 1992 F-150. I have narrowed the transfer case options down to two. I have decided to go with either a divorced NP208 out of a 78 Ford or use a NP231 with a Novak Conversions adapter that will cost $500. Assuming these transfer cases have similar prices, would the driveline loss caused by the divorced transfer case be enough to justify the $500 adapter for the married? How much power could I expect to lose with the divorced case?
