223 Valve Cover

223 Valve Cover
I just bought a 1960 F100 with a 6cyl that I assume is a 223. But, I have spare 223 also out of a 60 truck that has a different style valve cover. The one I just got mounts with 2 studs in the center top of the cover, the other one mounts with bolts around the outside bottom of the cover. Otherwise the engines look the same. Can anyone shed some light on the difference?

The 50's motors had the two studs from the rocker arm shaft towers that held on the valve cover the later motors had the bolts around the perimeter of the cover. Think the change happened with the 61 model trucks but as always could be wrong.
