Someone help me. Damn I feel stupid. I cannot find a bleeder valve on the old master nor on the old slave cylinders. I did buy a new master cylinder and have opened it and cannot return it.
I cannot find nor figure out how to bleed the thing without a bleeder valve. I guess I am screwed there because I am not jockying around with it to bleed it and drive down the road with a 1/2 baked system.
F350-6 and others mention a pre-bled kit that consists of a master , slave, lines, reservoir, etc .
Where can I get one (besides a dealership) I have been looking everywhere. I feel like an idiot asking the question, but I have searched the net and cannot find one. I don't like autozone or oreilly's so I am not going there. I want a ford OEM replacement if possible.
Read Jetdoc's posts #2 & #4. He saved money getting his at powerstrokeshop.com, but he had to call them since the part we are talking about is not on their website.
Many thanks. I have been a bit tired with work lately. I will call PS and get one. I cannot believe something like this is made w/out a bleeder. I guess I am thinking about that too much.
Sorry to use old post, but my question is, I bought the Maser and slave together as a unit. Took out the old one and got the old rod out and when I tried to put it in the new unit, it pused the rod out on the slave unit. How do I get that to go back in. It will not go back into the tranny with it being out. When you buy the unit it has a plastic cap and strap on it to hold it in.
Hey man... Yeah, I think about this thing all the time still. Keep wondering when it will happen again. The new one came with a plastic clip to keep the actuating rod from falling off. I took that off, put it into the transmission and was done. I don't understand the problem you are having without seeing it. I would simply say 'put it back in' but you said you tried that already. Can you send me a pic? matt.skweres@yahoo.com Be glad to help where I can.
Thanks guys I will see what I can do tonight and If I still can not get it back in I will send a picture. When I pushed the rod in on the master that goes inside the truck and hooks to the pedal it pushed out the rod that goes into the transmission on the slave end. Maube I just need to try and pull out the rod on the master side to see if I can push back in the rod on the slave side. I don't know I will try again tonight.
Pushed the master cylinder rod in a couple of times and tried the rod on the slave and it went right in. Put back together and it works perfectly. Thanks Guys.
