4.2 manual tran.

I have a 98 STX model with a 4.2/5speed. Have had no troubles with 92000 miles. Maybe the dual exhaust and the K&N filter helped out.
If and when the six cylinder decides to quit can I drop a 4.6 or another v8 in with the same transmission?

The exhaust I went with was a cat-back system made by Flo-Pro. I had never heard of them but the smalll muffler shop I went to had all the specs compared to Flomaster and two other big names. It was about $75 less and sounds gooood. The tips you get will effect the sound depending on the size of them. Sorry I don't have any specs to send you, but it was definetly worth it, around $235 I think I paid. They say you get a little better mpg but I'm not sure about that, it seems to keep the rpms down when your runnin' 4th and 5th gear over 65-70mph. Anyway I haven't been disappointed.
