keeping thieves away
I'm surprised that pulling #9 fuse allowed it to fire.....
I have a hidden switch on mine.....well actually my RKE is busted and I have to push that stupid little button every time I want to fire it up... I need to fix that lol.
I do like the Transfer in nuetral trick and the switch in the battery cable. I assume these vehicles are stolen under the cover of darknes. How about a wire from the light switch to the horn with a simple switch in it? OR any acc. that is activated by the ignition switch to the horn with a switch in it. With the switch closed the horn will sound when the headlights are on or ignition activated.
The Club?
Chain through the steeringwheel to the gear select, brake pedal, seat frame or another creative place.
Untill you decide I would make sure you have full coverage. No matter what you try, it will be better than doing nothing.
anyway i just went out to my truck, pulled the #9 fuse under the hood and it fires right up and runs fine. i also pulled the main comp. fuse under the dash same thing, runs fine. any other ideas? or am i missing something?
since you have an auto, there is a jumper where the clutch safety switch would normally plug into. It is a red/blue wire looped at the connector and is located where the clutch pedal bracket would mount on the firewall (a gray one in my case).
Just cut the loop and put a switch on the two wires. Then you don't have to mess with running any wires or fuses
I would not crank, so you don’t have to worry of your starter or batteries.Good Luck.

i just wonder about switches, if a thief is smart enough to wire up a car to run, i think if it didnt start the first thing they would do is look for some kinda swith under the dash. my other truck i just take the coil wire with me.
My advice is to use some type of deterrence and get good insurance and MOST OF ALL, enjoy life w/o looking over your shoulder
As for the dogs, they are just dogs, and not everyone is afraid of them. And if you love them, I wouldn't temp fate by leaving them to watch your wallet. Bullets are cheap, but the love of an animal is not. That's worst case senario. Not so bad....people are meaner than dogs, and dogs WILL recognize it and yield. Ask me how I know.

A person who is good with animals can stomp down a dog just with a look.
People freak out when I stare their dogs down at the farm. The dogs still bark, but they run from me. Then I tease then and call them sissies cause they are all bark, and no bite. hahaha.
I want them to come bite me sometimes, so I can snap their neck, so I don't have to have the headache while working from their piercing bark, because their owner just lets the dog sit there and bark the whole time I'm there shearing, and the sheep are acting like morons cause they are scared of the dogs.
now as for staring down dogs, the 2 farm dogs we have here. Totally not happening. When I first came here, I tried, no chance. These 2 dogs will defend me with their lives now if you attack me, which I'm sure will be enough time to get the gun or something else.
Have to leave the windows up high enough on the truck with these 2 aussies, they will jump out and attack if somebody gets to close to the truck. So, just high enough to stick their head out. haha.
Australian Shepherds are one of the dogs that you cannot get to back down, due to their personalities towards people.
They choose if they want to be your friend or not, you don't get to choose that with them.
Now, as for deturants, The neutral safety switch trick works great, unless you have a mechanic jump in your truck. Which I found out was bad.
I had one in the F150, i disguised it as a tank selector switch. he hopped in and drove it around to the bay. i was like. WTF! haha.
Neutral safety is probably the best way to do it though.
