OEM Chip for 5.0
I have a '92 F-150 5.0 (E40D) that runs really rough. It's been in the family for a long time. Several years ago, my uncle put a JET performance chip in it. My dad swears that it has run bad ever since, so I am trying to find a replacement stock chip. Anyone have one or know where I can get one? I am not looking for performance from this truck, I just want smooth reliability. Thanks.

There is no OEM chip. You simply pull out the JET chip from the service port and the PCM reverts back to the OEM tune held in the PCM.

Make sure you disconnect the battery first. Its possible to fry the PCM if you don't. The chip will sticking on the outside of the PCM box. Open the hood. On the driver's side firewall the PCM will be sticking through. It has a wiring harness bolted to it with a 10mm bolt. Now that you've located it, open the driver's door and look up on the firewall under the dash and you should see the PCM sticking through. Its a silver box (some aftermarket replacements are painted black). The chip will be a rectangular module sticking to the side of the box. For a Jet it should be black, possibly with yellow lettering. Pull the chip off and you're good to go. Sometimes clearance issues will require that you take the entire PCM out in order to pull the chip.
