What's up, fellas. I have a 2000 f-150 xlt and the a/c stays on no matter what position the selector switch is in. The small green light that comes on when you switch on the a/c also stays on. I don't mean to come off like captain obvious with this thread but I just want to make sure it is a bad switch before I tear my center panel apart to get to the switch. I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks for the reply. There is no separate button just the factory dial that starts with "max a/c" and ends with defrost. I had the a/c on and wanted to switch it to just the normal vent position and the a/c stayed on. Does that in every position but off. It's hot as hell over here (Ca.) so it's not that big a deal right now but I would really like to get it fixed.
Does the **** feel like it's moving thru the positions? Sometimes the **** cracks and it's just spinning on the metal part not acually doing anything. Could also be a vacum leak. If you don't know how to take the center dash trim off, just move the two vents to the side so you can get a good grip and pull it straight out then you can take a look around in there.
