Anybody running the Dick Cepek FC II tires? I like that they look more agressive than an AT, but would probably ride better than an MT. Any comments, suggestions, or experiences all appreciated. Mileage life, road noise, grip? Planning on 35/12.5/17s
Yes I am running a set of 305/70R16 FC II's on my "99 SD. They are my current summer tires and they are alright. I am a little surprised as to how noisy they are on the road. Not as loud as a MT tire, but louder than a BFG AT.
I was also surprised that they didn't do so well on wet grass. I was moving stuff at a friends house and had to drive across the lawn that was covered with dew. The lawn has a slight grade to it and the rear started spinning. I have a TrueTrac out back and both tires were spinning on the wet grass. I didn't want to tear up their lawn so I put it 4x4 and we were fine then. I have driven on their lawn before in the same conditions with my BFG MT's and my former Baja Claws without having to put it into 4x4 so I found this very disappointing.
Oh and the tires are only a year old and just lost the nubs on the tread.
My neighbor has them on his 01 SD and I am getting ready to put a set on my 07. Probably going with a 325/60/18, maybe a 305/60/18s, not really sure yet.
