i have a 75 highboy with a divorced np 205 tcase. it seems to work in 2wd and possibly 4hi but in 4lo the front output turns but the rear does not. just seems to make a ratcheting sound. i dont have a transmission in the truck currently (getting rebuilt) and have never drove it so i dont know if that is exactly the case or not. but i have also heard that my old 77 highboy is now doing the same thing! is it something easy to fix/worth rebuilding or should i just find a different t-case? thanks

With a little modification the 205 is capable of front output only, but the shift rails have to be modified, and should work independantly. Your 205 may not be broken, and may just be that the shift rails may not be working properly. Should inspect the linkage for slop or broken parts.
