newb on diesel modding
hey guys, first post here!
i bought this truck 2 years ago and it has been great. now i want to do a bit of performance upgrades. it already has 4" magnaflow dual outlet turbo back, minor suspension lift, wheels and tires, but i would like to do a chip/tuning device. i have been doing a bit of searching and am thinking about Bully dog... is this good and if so which one? i am steering away from the SCT because i don't really feel like messing with the tuning incase i mess up. the truck is used for towing my race car so i would like to have that extra power when i am out on the back roads to the track and on the highway. help me out. any suggestions on modding it please post it up. i am a car guy with a truck and don't know much about it besides the maintinence. thanks.

Nice truck, mine looks the same but an Ex.....I've had the Bully Dog for almost 20k miles and my brother has it in his Ex for maybe 25k. I love mine and haven't had any problems and I've done plenty of towing short and long distances. my brother had his turbo replaced under warr but that was because he has an "old" 6.0 he had problems before the BD. I can't say anything bad about the other tuners...I'm sure they all have pros & cons...I'm sure some has something bad to say about the BD. I've never heard anything bad about the BD and I love mine.

ok thanks. i just ordered a boost and pyro gauge that i will mount down low since i don't like a-pillar style.
it is still up with bully dog or the sct then. if an 8year old can do it i can.
now with the sct, which one would you go with?

Call Matt at SpartanDieselTech.com He's refered to as the best of the best for 6.0L tuning. He'll tell you the differences between the two and tell you what's your best choice.

I think if you went with the sct then most guys will tell you to get custom tunes from LIPD (Long Island Performance Diesel) or......what 6L said

also towing. i am upgrading trailers from my 14' flat deck to a 28' inclosed trailer. anything i should do besides trailer brakes? like with the suspension?

Tex I'm with you on that .. that's why i was curious . .since the 03's could come with either ..
So if you do have a 7.3 Black Power the SCT is not for you .. you want the DP tuner . .hands down THE BEST for the 7.3L..
