I have a 2001 Expedition. In park (idle) you can slam the gas and RPMs all the way and it runs fine. Once driving – at times in slower speeds or going up hills it jerks…almost stutters. Feels like water in the gas tank almost. Transmission has been checked – no problems. Asked if it were the plugs - Ford says cant be - you have coils. Whenever they change my fuel filter it is slow for a day then picks back up.
When we first bought it – back in 01 – within a month the Torque Convertor went. They took it back (after my griping for another month and getting the – “we cannot seem to make it happen like you say it does” dance). They finally got it to happen on a long trip to another state. They said they replaced and it was fine. Then the last couple of years it does this for a month or so then stop.
Could it be fuel related or even temperature related?

Sigh...<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
It was the Coil and the one by the air conditioning unit......water dripping in....seems to be a known problem.....that Ford...knows "nothing" about, but all the mechanics in the area here and online forums seem to know.<o></o>
There went another 600 dollars out the window.<o></o>
