Electrical Problem Maybe??

I have a 96 Powerstroke and can't figure out whats wrong. The truck runs and starts great when operating correct but when not its agravating. The truck quits running sometimes but always has restarted after a few mins. When this happens the lights in the dash go to flashing.......check engine, wait to start and under the hood where the relay box is it goes to making a clicking noise while the key is on. I have replaced the CPS sensor and it hasn't helped. The last few times the truck has done this I have unpluged the sensor and replugeed it up and the truck has started immediately. I thought maybe the plug was dirty but really can't see anything wrong. I have moved all kinds of wires under the hood thinking maybe a broke wire somewhere but can't get the truck to act up . I am thinking about changing the plug on the wiring harness that plugs into the CPS sensor. I don't know that will solve the problem but the truck has never failed to start when I unplugged it and replugged it up. Is this plug available and do you think it might be worth changing?...Where is the best place to purchase one?........Thanks

i've never heard of the cps plug causeing the whole dash to go nuts and relay boxes to click, tha sounds more like an ignition electrical problem, but i am confused by the fact that it wont restart unless you unplug the cps and reconnect it, the only place i know of to get that pigtail is ford, they can look it up for you there. somebody else may have an aftermarket place to try out

I think Rick nailed it, a complete electrical failure, intermintant too.....sucks.

Joe, I think he meant the UVC connector not the CPS, IDK

Last time I had a vehicle with an electrical problem (Honda Passport*) ,
I solved it by trading it in for my 99 EXPY...

*The people at Honda screwed it up doing warranty work, then would not fix it...
Thats another story...
