Sure can. I'm just sort of biding my time for the moment, lots of irons in the fire and haven't had time to chase this one to ground yet with a final decision. I really need to get on the phone with AE and talk this over in more detail with them so I can move on with my decision.
I dont think thats true F250_, I bought my 2nd and 3rd keys on ebay and programmed them with no problems.Fom what year is this an issue (mine is a 2k so maybe thats why?)
It's probably your year model, Jorge. I know that we can all program our own key fobs with no dealer interventaion at all, but everywhere I've read while checking into this (here in FTE, other Ford forums, general internet articles, Ford owner's manual, etc.)... they all say that if you have two transponder keys, you can program the others on your own. But if you only have ONE transponder key, then the 2nd one has to be programmed by either dealer, local locksmith, or now potentially someone who has AE. The comments regarding this have been universally unanimous on this (so far, anyway).
If there really IS a way for me to program my own, I'll be more than happy to get 'er done.
Are you sure that your 2K has the chipped keys? Because I'm not talking about the keys that have the remote buttons built into them... the ones I'm talking about have no buttons at all... just the microchip that communicates with the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) to verify that the key really belongs to the truck.
hmmmm, I dont know then when I bought my truck it only came with 1 key and fob, I went to ebay and bought 2remotes and programmed them, keys from wally world. All NP, are we both talking about different things?
I need to look into this for the wife's 01 F150 crew cab. I may need to program a key. Let me know how this turns out. I did not know we could do that. I guess I should spend more time with the AE than here.
