Paul,

I am not up on the pricing of used Ex's. BUT I do have a question. You mention people moving AND towing.

I notice you joined a while ago and not sure if you have ever driven an Ex before and if you have towed with an Ex before...if so, sorry for the unsolicited advice...if not...read on...

Ex's "can" be good tow vehicles but have limitations. Do you have any idea WHAT you want to tow in the way of length and weight?

Listed payloads on the Ex's, especially PSD ones, are REALLY low (4x4 versions V10 1670#'s and PSD 1430#'s). Remember that PAYLOAD must include people, gear, options AND tongue weight. The heavy oil burner is what accounts for the reduced payload even though the PSD version has a higher GVWR!!!

Many purchase an Ex and expect it to be an incredible TV from the start. If I were you and you were looking at a HUGE trailer and needed room for more than 5 people...I'd look FULL-SIZE non-extended 3/4 ton vans. If only 4 people or 5 small people...I'd seriously look crew cab pickemup if you are serious about towing long and heavy...

I've towed over 11,000 miles with my Ex...so believe me I am a believer in how an Ex CAN tow...but I've invested heavily this past year in time and money to get my balance back. POWER of my V10 is NOT the issue...stability of the platform of the Ex is. Do a search on "wander", "steering", "sway" and you will have lots of reading.

So not to scare you or anything...while the PSD and V10 are VERY STRONG motors...the packaging Ford surrounded them with in this SUV is not immediately conducive to HEAVY and LONG towing...just a heads up.

You CAN make it into an awesome tow vehicle (TV)...but be prepared for some time and money...NOW if you are only going to tow 7000#'s or less ignore ALL of my comments! LOL

Good luck,
joe.

There are 5 ppl <17yo,12yo 6yo>2 adults. We are motocrossers and i have a cargo trailer for bikes. My wife has a Durango which seats everyone but with the trailer i feel a littl out of control<trailer is 24ft long>I thought of a crewcab but kids............you know....The idea of a truck with a huge toy hauler will break the bank My truck now isnt enough leg room in the back.So i thought the Ex would fit the bill...............Paul

I think that's a fair price but is it in Canadian or US dollars? If it's Canadian...who's the dealer so that I can call him to buy it?
