turbo project

i have a turbo from a dt466 international motor. i plan on mounting it under the truck where the y pipe intersects. i will have to put a blow off vave on it and probably set it at 8 psi as this is a stock engine. i would like to have 4 inch single exhaust out of on side or dual stacks. what is the biggest pipe i can put on from the exhaust manifolds to the turbo as i plan on have a custom y pipe. i want to put an intercooler from a dodge or something as well. of course i would install a pyrometer gauge and turn the fule up 2-3 clicks. does this sond feasible. the only problem i have is what kind of external low pressure oil pump to use to pump the oil back into the engine from below. does anybody know where i can get a 12 volt oil pump for this application. i have seen kits on horsepower tv where they installed turbos on a vette and used an oil pump to do what i want. also what can i expect as far as performance with 8-10 psi on an 85 f250 with 6.9 and 4 spd.

there is a guy on another board who did a two stage turbo set up on an IDI. he used the stock fuel lift pump for the turbo and ran a electric for the fuel.

I have thought of doing this also and would be curous to see any progress.

how long would a fuel lift pump last sucking oil though, it is thicker. that is a good idea though. of course i will take pics. any body know the biggest pipe i can hook up to the exhaust manifolds.

Would you want the exhaust to exit the stock manifold opening(I think someone said it's 2 1/4"?) into a large pipe were it would slow down, or would you want to the keep the velocity up before it enters the turbo by keeping the same size pipe as the manifold exit?

Keep the pipe small so the exhaust velocity is high.
The faster the exhaust is moving, the sooner the turbo will spool and the higher the boost will go.

That is one of the reasons I have two layers of header wrap on my exhaust before it gets to the turbo.
Keeps the heat in the exhaust gasses, which means more volume and higher exhaust speeds to spin the turbo.
