Just got my dp tuner installed along with transgo tugger. Love the shift program, but truck seems to smoke alot? Had a superchips microtuner before and not near as much smoke. Does everybody elses do this?

Gee, what setting are you running in? It will boost the fuel. Of course excess fuel is a waste but it beats lack of fuel for potential. It also smokes a ricer nicely.

The 40hp tow seems to smoke more than my superchips 110hp setting. I will talk to Jodi in the morning, just wondering if everone elses is the same. On 120hp lots of smoke for ricers!

More Black smoke is normal! I had banks stacked with the superchip and didnt smoke at all (Very Little) The added fuel with the D.P tuner is normal, I like it! Dont listen to the banks therory, Have you seen a 2000 HP diesle pulling tractor before it takes off, How about at the drag strip, they all smoke like hell until they get rolling. It just the initial shoot of fuel to get things spun up and rolling! The banks and superchip stacked were less H.P and alot less SOP feeling than the D.P on 80 econo, with the extra H.P that the D.P produces over the others I have tried, I can live with the smoke OOOHHH YAAA!

On mine, 80 "econo" 120 race and 140 smoke all do it, but by far the 140 does it the most. The 60 hp tow I have only used a few times and it's when towing so of course, I have to move the pedal differently to keep the horses on all four legs so I can't tell you if it does or not.

when i'm driving down the highway on 80 econ it blows smoke and enough that cars back off I dont know if it is the exhaust and intake or what, but man when the truck sees 140 noone sees the truck. ....Hell 80econ broke my yolk and the u joint....And the yolk it broke was the spicer one going into the carrier bearing

Thanks for the reply. Didnt think anything was wrong, just wondered if that was the norm for dp. It does pull hard, just didnt expect so much smoke on 40hp tow.
