I checked my TPS and the low end I could adjust the idle to meet the .9V but the WOT voltage was low(3.5v) Does that mean its faulty? It currently won't idle and barely stays running so I have been trying to decipher whats wrong but this seems like my next part to replace.
I just replaced mine yesterday. I was getting two differant codes pointing toward it and would not run at WOT, plus I thought trans was going out. TPS solved it all. Runs better now than the 3 years Ive owned it.
Thanks guys. This thing has been fighting me but I think I'll have it going again after this gets changed thursday. I had my starter go out and the negative battery cable was corroded so it wasn't charging and the it started running crappy. All in the same day. I was waiting on the sky to fall on my head. Thanks for the advise.
Sounds like you 5 Volt Supply (VREF) is low. Pull off the plug and check the voltage.
It should be 5.0 Volts to the Signal (ground) return in the same plug.
I replaced the computer last year. It had better not be bad. I bought a new one not a used one. As I have learned from before, there is no certain test for the computers. I am going to try changing the TPS this weekend and keep my fingers crossed. I'd hate to send this to pasture. I love this truck.
