Trailer hitch question

For anyone in the know, Do you have to drop the gas tank to remove/install the factory hitch & bumper on an 05 Ex?

Ya know....something tells me that you do. I know somewhere in these "Halls of FTE" somebody had to replace their hitch and stated that the tank had to be dropped. He wrote up his story about the process. This was a few years ago. Maybe you'll find it on a search.
