I don't use the website to build and price a vehicle. Typically they don't allow for you to take some things off and add other things on. Other then the King Ranch package itelf, there isn't one other fully complete package(luxury package the biggest one that I deleted most from typically because I go aftermarket for that). Bottom line talk to a person about it, you'll have more of a chance getting it done like that then you would from the website as the website only has certain features and it is harder to do something that would be custom like a special order on the website.
Thanks for the input. Guess I need to pay a visit to the local dealership and see. A lariet or xlt may have to be in my future. I think a xlt will be enough but boy is my wife gonna be disappointed.
You COULD get buckets and a 6 speed, but it would have to be a dealer installed thing. When I was checking out this jacked up F-250 at a dealership, the sales guy mentioned that on another truck they traded the bucket seats out of a auto into a manual cab but it may look a little odd without the center console. But it IS possible, the mounting system is or should be the same between all SDs.
I've had numerous pickup trucks that I've put hundreds of thousands of miles on and they'd all been stick shifts. My last one was a 93 F-250 with the IDI 7.3 diesal in it that I bought new and it never failed me. I swore I would always, ALWAYS, have a stick shift in any truck I owned...
Then I test drove my current truck, 2005 F-350 KR 6.0 with that unbelievably sweet torqueshift transmission. Uhhhh, everybody who knew me could not believe how quickly I turned my back on ONLY having a manual transmission in my truck.
Point is, if you haven't already, you may want to test drive the auto...it is one helluva tranny...
Is that because a center console won't fit with a floor shifter?
I got a 2008 console off ebay and installed it in my truck (2008). The shifter can hit the edge of the console when shifting into Low and second gear. While it is in the gear it does not rub the console. But when you shift into the gear you usally push the lever a bit further and that makes it hit sometimes.
my plan is to fab some new mounting brackets for the console that places it an inch or two further back. That should take care of any issues with the shifter.

Just when I thought I had figured out what I wanted. You can't build a KR with the 6 speed on the ford website. Now what am I gonna do?
I feel your pain. Ford missed out on selling me well over $2000 worth of options on my truck because I couldn't add them without changing somthing I wanted to keep.
Heated leather powered seats (automatic tranny only)
Power fold heated tow mirrors (automatic tranny only)
Powered rear window (Lariat only)
Upgraded heater, A/C system (Lariat only)
FYI, I couldn't go with a Lariat because of the chrome. Why not offer the most expencive trim level (Lariat) with customer's choise of any body appeariance. I'd choose XLT sport for the body appeariance. But you guessed it, XLT sport is only aviable with automatic tranny!

Because they want to mass produce these things, a custom build on every truck would take a lot of time and be outragiuosly expensive. But I have to agree with some to the other posters, the torqueshift is a great tranny, my mechanic went from an 90 7.3IDI 5 speed to a 2004 KR PSD with a torqueshift. He always said the same thing "I will never buy an auto" now he has it and he doesn't know how he lived with out it, he says he will never go back to a manual tranny.
When I went shopping for my new truck I called around and found a 6 speed to test drive. I then went to a fleet dealer and ordered the truck with all the options I wanted. King Ranch could not be built with a 6 speed. So I went with a lariat. I also got the bucket seats with a center console. We went over the options on the phone for a few days. The fleet dealer had to call Ford and find out what could be built with the 6 speed. In the end I got everything I wanted. It did take ford 6 months to build it. If you have the time Ford will make just about anything you want. The dealer said it was the first time he saw a 6.0 psd lariat with a 6 speed in it.
