Same here but mines a 2005. For the amount of money these trucks cost now, if its available on one setup, you should be able to get what you want. Isn't that why you "order" a vehicle anyway. If you have to wait to get it thats your choice. Just my opinion.
I've had numerous pickup trucks that I've put hundreds of thousands of miles on and they'd all been stick shifts. My last one was a 93 F-250 with the IDI 7.3 diesal in it that I bought new and it never failed me. I swore I would always, ALWAYS, have a stick shift in any truck I owned...
Then I test drove my current truck, 2005 F-350 KR 6.0 with that unbelievably sweet torqueshift transmission. Uhhhh, everybody who knew me could not believe how quickly I turned my back on ONLY having a manual transmission in my truck.
Point is, if you haven't already, you may want to test drive the auto...it is one helluva tranny...
Ditto. I've only had manual tranny trucks as well and have said to anyone and everyone that would listen that I"ll ONLY buy/drive trucks with manual transmissions. I test drove a 08 250 KR and my girlfriend had to drag me out of that dealership before i spent 55 grand that I don't have!!
the stick is not vailible with the 2 captins chairs nd the big deep center consol. there is no way the will do it. you could get the seats and console and custom instll them, the consol would have to be moved back to keep the shifter from hitting it.
The console was redesigned for the '08's. It's larger than the outgoing model, hence why you cannot mix the captains chairs and the console.
I just built one on Fords website and could configure the captains chairs and 6 speed just like I got..
I have a 06 CC lariat diesel with the 6 speed.. The site let me build it with the same options in an 08..
I did not try a KR option but it should be the same..
Are we talking a regular cab or super cab? That may be the difference..
It did want to change to the automatic when selecting the Rapid heat option.. Not sure what stupid reason they have for that one.. What difference does the tranny have to do with the heater..
Also there is an aftermarket short throw shifter replacement that some others guys have installed.. Cost about 150.00.. Sorry couldn't find the link..
This could be used to minimize any clearance issues..

I believe they changed that with the Job3 trucks. Now allowing the option of the supplemental cab heater with both transmissions. why they didn't allow it in the first place is beyond me.
