are these good headers?

my buddie suggest that i get these...

it says that there for 2wd but my truck is a 1996 4x4 5.0 xlt , you think i will have any problems bolting them on?

im also gonna get the 50 Series Delta Flow mofasters... anyone use these? im looking for a nice deep sound but i dont want it to loud inside. does it matter if the input and output of the muffler are in the middle or the sides? I plan on just bolting on the headers driving the thing to the exxhaust place and having them put on the pipes and mufflers...
my first truck i am newbie with this stuff

I just bought some cheap Flowtech headers from summit, as per the recommendation of several people on this forum, Mr. M [Mike] and Conanski [Paul].

Only thing with buying painted (instead of ceramic coated or furnace brazed) headers is that you will probably want to strip the paint and repaint them with high temp paint (I'm going to use 1200* stovepipe paint). I started a thread about it:

I have heard better things about flowtech than hedman, although I've heard good things about hedman too. Does have thicker collector diameter... Not sure if it's really necessary on these trucks, generally people say a single 3 inch pipe or dual 2.25" pipes is about right for these engines.

those look good.. but it says there for the 5.8L dont see ones for the 5.0 on there?
what kinda mufflers you using?

hey i just looked under the truck im wondering will the muffler man be able to route dual exhaust all the way to the back or should i have the headers go into 1 pipe? i kinda want the dual exhaust. seemes like theres alot of 4x4 stuff in the way though?

Sorry I didn't realize you had a 5.0L.

I haven't had personal experience with your scenario, but guys on here say that you will have A LOT of trouble routing true duals with longtubes on a 4x4 truck. The best setup is to route the left pipe under the transmission and connect it to the right with a y-pipe on the right side of the truck, then run that back to a muffler (with dual outlets if you want duals). Conanski has about the best setup you're gonna find if you want longtubes on a 4x4 truck. I posted pics of his setup on this thread:

I personally like the 3 inch single route on a 4x4. easyer to install, can tuck up closer so less to rip off while offroading, cheaper, good gains in torque, and I personally like the sound with a performance muffler. thermal coatings are definetly worth the money no matter the brand and highly recomended if your in the mud, helps keeps heat out of engine bay and protects your investment. mud and the heat cycling of painted headers will destoy them quickly. also helps protect from cold, resists cracking if you hit a water hole. offset inlet and outlet mufflers generally are quieter than straight but depends on internal design as well. Ive heard a few say the 50 is too quiet for them but thats with running cats as well. Check this out www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2006/02/BigUglyWorkTruck/index.php for a sound sample, single inlet dual outlet 50, stock cats, and shorty flowtechs. But dont buy shorty headers. minimal gain.

The flowtech's work just fine with the 5.0 trucks as well.

Mine are setup identical to Conanski's. With a y-pipe terminating behind the transfercase and a single exit out the side.
