I recieved my lastest edition of FOUR WHEELER magazine and in the whats new section they had "H2, Silverado to get new clean diesel". It will be a 310 hp and 520 foot pound diesel V-8 for 2010. Next bit of news, "09 F-150 spied", it will get the new 3 bar grill along with expanded engine choice's like an inhouse 4.4 V-6 turbo diesel and a new 6.2 boss V-8. The final bit of news is,"Colorodo to finally get a V-8". The colorodo and H3 will get a 5.3 small block V-8. This may finally make them competitive in the marketplace the artical say's. Good news for everyone but us ranger guy's, even the stinken colorodo gets a v-8 and we can't even get a new ranger.
All of us know that the interior's and most body design has stayed the same for the past 11 years. If ford really had any intentions of redesigning the ranger SOMEONE would know about it. All i want is a different interior and maybe a bigger engine bay to comfortably fit a small v-8 like a 4.6 BUT who knows. I have 5 mazda b3000's sitting in my driveway. I love the style and the power is an ok compromise with the marginal gas milage.
These guys need to recognize a winner when they have one. The Ranger is definitely a winner, but Ford does need to update it. The styling is fine, I like the look, but It would be nice to get either a small diesel option or a small V8, but I do not want to compromise fuel economy in the smaller options by doing anything that will increase wind resistance.
Duratorq is build on base of previous Pegeout turbo diesel. Belive me, duratorq is a good diesel. But I cant understand why ford doesn not use small Cummins diesels ore Austrian Steyr ore Deuetz... There are many good and not expencive diesel engines, that fit aero, ranger ore F150 - F350. Here there are many ford truck converted to diesel.....
