Cool Shift on the fly not working

I just noticed that my shift on the fly doesnt work...I noticed because i took te back driveshaft off and had the truck in 4x4 AND ABOUT GOT RAN OVER!!!!! I had to stop the truck by pushing back on it before it crushed my dads 05 ranger..

Anyways when i manually lock in the hubs my 4x4 works, but not when i shift on the fly...What could be broke and how do i go about fixing it?

I had the same problem on my 01', it turned out to be a vacuum hose at one of the wheels. Check for a broken hose or one that is dry rotted. Dealer said that was a common problem. You may have more problems than this. Good luck.

Another option is to replace the factory hubs with the Warn Premium manual locking hubs (part# 38826). It takes about 30 minutes. Then plug the supply air line to and from the ESOF silenoid, located behind the passenger side battery mounted on the fender. You have to get out of the truck to lock the hubs but its reliable. Do a search on "Warn Hubs" and you'll get all kinds of information.

When you work the switch does your A/C default to defrost?

Dumb question I know but try it and see. If it does then you have a vacuum leak and that is your problem.

Sounds like stock hubs to me. Can you take a pic and post? If not I can snap one of mine and post.

Try that A/C trick and see what happens. Chances are you have a vacuum leak at the hoses.
