ok why do these engines ping in the trucks. it cant be good i have stepped up the gasoline to pluse it helps but it still pings like a SON of A B at times. now i got a 5.0 in my mustang and that pings to only when the mas air meter is dirty bc of the K&n air filter with the oils sticking the dirt on the meter. so thats a simple clean and fix. but how do i fix it in the truck

First make sure you have your plugs wires routed properly. Ther is a crossfire problem on these 5.0s. Make sure they are at least an inch away from one another. I've had good luck using SeaFoam through the intake a few times to clean things out. And also run it in the tank. Is your CEL on? Have you checked for any stored codes?
an inch apart. jeese i got the blue ford racing wires on it. i tryed seafoam nada and nope no check engine light. havnt put it on the computer to check .
I know what you are going through. I tried the codes and all vac ETC. I cleaned and replace anything that didn't meen spects on www.fordinjection.com (Tell how to pull codes also). The ping knock sensor was bad on mine . But there are many things like IAC ETc to cause pings. Pull the codes and see if it tells you any thing.
I hope I have improved some of the pinging - found a post on cleaning the intake inside the EGR valve and tried that one. Had to dig out gunk inside the port in the intake using wire, an old piece of fuel line with sharpened angled end and then driving for a while. Slowly, slowly, it has improved from the normal ping at accel from stop sign. Never had CEL or code, just couldn't get rid of it. Have used seafoam and lots of other things; removed EGR and cleaned, tested several times.
Good luck!
There is more to the flow of EGR than just the EGR valve itself...such as the tube that delivers the exhaust gas to the EGR valve + the port of the plenum where the exhaust gas leaves the EGR valve and enters the motor.
