Hi Lloyd...I love a good challenge breaking down big truck tag info...got a couple of questions I will ask at the end...the VIN..
F60= F600 series conventional cab
D= 330 HD 2bbl engine
R= San Jose assy
858750= May 1966...since May prod. started with 858000, my guess is the truck was built in the first 2 or 3 days of the months run.
WB 194 = 194 inches in wheelbase length
Color L= Dark Green
Model F602= 20000 GVWR
Body 481= 4- interior trim scheme..Lt Beige Crush Vinyl & Lt Beige Wicker Pattern Vinyl, 81= base trim conventional cab
Trans/Axle...this is the question to be covered at the end...
Max GVWR 20000 llbs = Max loaded weight
Cert Net HP= ratings of the engine..164 net HP @ 3800 RPM
DSO= Seattle...where Im located...
The trans and axle code is confusing...the best I have been able to decipher is it has a New Process 5 spd w/o Overdrive - code O
rear axle- 6:78 ratio Eaton code 30DP..tandem axle with Hendrickson suspension
I would guess that its probably an old Weyerhauser truck...if you wanna email me direct feel free to and if you are in the Seattle area drop me your number and I can give you a call if you wish.
ND...Thanks for the clarification of the axle/trans codes...on big trucks is the front axle code always the last shown...wheres the split in the truck lines where they list front axle codes. Or is it anything above one ton on F series and all other lines across the board??

On the F500 and larger trucks thru 1969, the AXLE code refers to both front & rear axles. If the code is two digits, the front axle is considered standard for the particular model (example: F500=5000 lbs). However, if the code is three digits as this one is, the third digit refers to a heavier than standard front axle. After 1969, all axle codes have three digits, standard or otherwise.
