Hi Im new to this forum and I was just wondering if anyone out there has this product and would fill me in in how good of quality it is and if its worth the money. I have a 300 sony x-plode amp and 2 ten inch subs with 2 6 inchers in the doors of my 78 F150. Thanks for all who can give advice
I think he was talking about an actual type of headliners called the "Highliner" that has built in speakers and stuff. I always found LMC to be a little spendy, but if BOTP has it, buy from them.
That part is not exclusive to lmc but I have not looked for it at any of our sponsors. It is kind of spendy if its only going to be used for more speakers, but if you want to mount other stuff up there like switches, cb, equalizer, etc. then it does offer some solutions. I've seen them in various vehicles for years and the ABS quality seems pretty good because they all looked like they were holding up pretty well. The music is in your face, so speaker selection/amp matching would be important I'd think.
Why not cut holes in the pillar behind the seat and mount your speakers there?
I replaced the in cab gas tank so there was already a hole on the drivers side. Much cleaner looking plus you don't run the risk of hitting your head (I'm 6'3").
That's a good idea, BigGrizz, but the later models have their shoulder harness up there also - kind of limits the room available for speakers, but small tweeters might work.
actually, go lower that where the harnesses are, mine also has shoulder belts, the speaker are roughly a little lower if not even with the bench seat top.
Bronco Graveyard, a sponsor, has the "highliner" My wife got me one for my B-day in June, but I haven't had time to install it yet. I think I will like it as my truck is very loud and I have trouble hearing the door speakers. I also have my fuel tank behind the seat so no speakers there for now. I'm anxious to get it in.
