Anyone know if an '05-'07 dash will fit and work on an '04 as an upgrade?? I like the look a bit better. Wondering if it can be done since alot of people are changing the grills. Would be nice to look at.
Pretty sure it won't work. The cut out around the climate controls is completely differet. The Radio opening is bigger (and the new radio won't fit in the radio spot behind the old dash). I also think many of the plugs for the switches have changed and won't match up to the plugs on your harnesses.
If you wanted to do it you would probably have to swap out the entire dash support, all the dash panels (not just the one around the gauges and radio), and a lot of the electrical plugs.
It would be more than just supports and wiring. The dash and gauges are tied into the trucks PCM and other electronics. All the instruments are electronically driven using data bus.
Thats a bit more involved than I would like!!!
Im sure that anything is possible and doable, just how much you want to spend on doing it!!! I think Id rather spent the cash on cool upgrades!!!!
i'm not sure how it would all wire up, but it will bolt up yes. you wont have any problem bolting it in, but i cannot say how easy it will be to make everything work.
i for one, have an 08 dash/interior coming and am going to do what i have to to get it working. also doing 08 tailgate, taillights, bedlights, tow mirrors, fender vents
Isnt the 08 dashs completelly different, compared to the 04 and 05-07 where only the speedo/radio area is different?? I would sure like to hear if it all wired up for you LvTitan. If the wiring isnt that difficult, I might just swap out my dash as stated...
yes it looks completely different when you look at it, but basically everything is still in the same place, might just need to 'modify' some stuff to mount up, like i believe the shape of the air vents are way different and the center ones are a lot closer together, but when it gets here i will see just how much work i'm getting myself into !
Yeah, whats the latest on this. LvTitan did you get to do this? I would love to know how everything works out. Weren't the Superduties changed to the data bus in 03 or 04. So I think it would just be a matter of getting the wiring harnesses to work.
