I used to be a big maglite fan, but they are illegal in hazardous locations. (class 1 div. 2) I now carry a 3 c cell pelican. The same pelican that makes the indestructable hard plastic cases. Its about 5 years old now and still on the same bulb. It is pretty decent as far as battery usage goes, but work suppies batteries, so I don't pay that close attention to how often I change them. They make them in all different sizes and styles as well as led bulb options as well.

I've got a B&D Snakelight in the Bronco. It just sits on the floor next to the driver's seat. I use it because it has an adapter to run off the Bronc's power outlet or cigarette lighter. It can also run on 2 "C" batteries, but I think they might be dead. Have'nt had to use it lately. I also have a small Coleman carbon fiber light that I keep in the center console. It runs on two "AA" batteries, and gets used fairly frequently.

The F150 has a Garrity pistol grip light that has something like 1.5 million candlepower, according to the box it came in. It's rechargeable either with an AC adapter or can run and charge off the cigarette lighter in the truck.

I also have a cheapo light on my keyring. Not sure who it was made by, but it's lasted quite awhile now. Made out of metal, has three of those flat disc watch batteries, and lights up with a red light.

Don't really have a flashlight for the house. If I need one inside, I go out and get one outta one of my trucks. I do have a battery operated Coleman lantern for when the power fails, though.

Jack Daniel, the super sabrelite 3C is what I have and you can get it for like $21 online. Batteries usually last 5-7 hours in mine.

I have several flashlights because I collect them. I work on the barges sometimes at night. You really have to see what you are doing. I like the Piezo headlamps because they fit on my hardhat. Sometimes in the tunnel the conveyor belts create explosive corn dust. I use several Pelican brand lights. We also work around railcars. The cheap lights just don't last.

Surefire. You could use these things for headlights. I have Mags and they don't compare to the Surefire.

I bought a DeWalt cordless drill and it came with a flashlight. I use it for work too and it is always on board my F150. Very bright light.

streamlight Survivor light either clipped on my tunout gear coat, or in the charger in the bronco, a couple of 9 LED flashlights that run off 3 AAA and have like a 90 hour runtime. keep one in my toolbox, one in the door of the truck, and one in the kitchen. A SureFire Weapon light/laser mounted on my Kimber .45 Auto for when things go bump in the night. same Weapon light also on my Remington 870.

4D maglite next to fire extinguisher next to drivers seat on floor.
One of those 30 minute rechargable million candle power spots, it has it's uses.
a few minimag lites one with the flashlight friend thing
A craftsman hat with the 2 leds built in, and the 5 led hat clip light on it too, The hat lights are kind of a yellow white light the clip on has more of a blue white light together they make a well rounded light and don't make things look screwy!!
A handheld uv light, You got to have the 4D flash light it lasts and lasts sometimes it seems like it's been years since I replaced the batts. The spot is good if you use it in bursts, it does have 3 power levels and 2 flash modes to save juice. The hat light is good for working on things nobody has to hold a flash light, It's good for cleaning your dogs ears so you can see what your doing!!

I have a 4D maglite in the truck, for whatever I need it for, including seeing things in the dark. I mainly keep it in there just in case I ever need something that is not considered a deadly weapon

Rayovacs for alkaline good power, Or the highest ni-mh, Those a123 li-ions are looking promising!! There are some hack sites that have alternative uses for those new power tool li-ion packs, You can use them to repower things that run off alkaline or ni-cads and you will have killer runtime and life with the lithiums!!
