E4oD Prob.
New to forum. I have a 99 motorhome, with I think a E40D.I had it rebuilt not to long ago and the repair shop is giving me the run around. When I take off from a complete stop it revs like it did not down shift into first. It does not do this all the time. When I come to a stop, if I put it in first I can shift it manualy. Hope you guys can help me out.

Try letting it creep forward to catch first. Chevy 4L60Es had that same problem.
First thing I would try to correct it would be have a dealership or tuner update the PCM. Ford probably has a new calibration, but a good tune could fix it too. Then I might try changing the fluid/filter and inspecting it for heavy wear particles.
