Cost's 2 X as many $$$'s, and I think part of the deal is getting $$$'s from scraping what's left over.

Any project you work on including vehicles or house repairs is subject of my "2/3rds theorem." What it means is that it will cost two times more than you planned on and take three times longer than you thought it would. The only flaw I have run into in the theorem is that sometimes it costs three times more but only takes twice as long to get done. LOL

So Duane if you build them both you can figure you will spend 4 times what you would plan for 1 and if it was me, probably never get done.

I'll bet Chad can vouch for the twice as much side of the theorom.

Yeah, only gonna build one, we will go thru them decide which is the better build and get all the parts from the other I need and take the other to scrap. My only concern is motors, one smokes and the other rattles so I need to diagnose each and see which will be the best to build.

Those little guys are very very pricey to work on. That's why a lot of folks put a small block v-8 in them. A lot less $$$'s and more go power.

I do have that 2.9 from OKC that the guy said was in good shape and had no issues other than the low HP output and the kid wanted a v-8. But I never heard it run. So it's going to cost a bit of work, oil and antifreeze to find out if he was telling the truth or not. It's an 88 and the early FI system.

4.0 out of an Ex might be a good budget swap also.

That Sploder would do just about everything in the San Juans with a good set of BFG AT's. Add a locker or Tru Trac and you could go everywhere. Just have to take it easy and use a spotter.

For a Tuttle beater you'll do fine with the little BII and keep the tires under 31's with stock axles. Should have a TK tranny (lower first gear for low speed control)

Muffin! I had forgotten all about that!!!! I about spit my Mt. dew across the room when I red that.... My opinion (even though I love Muffin) is that trucks kinda name themselves... Free Bee would stick pretty good... we could paint it yelloow with black stripes
