speedo broke??
I have a f250 super cab with v10 and 6 speed. My speedo just quit working.Its a digital. Anybody have a guess as where to start looking. I dont have the time to drive 175 miles to the dealer and was hoping I could fix it myself. Thanks

Well the speedo gets it's signal from the ring gear (actually from the tone ring located on the ring gear) in the rear axle.
On top of the axle is an electrical plug. Check this connection for looseness, corrosion etc. etc.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 18-Jun-02 AT 11:12 AM (EST)]That simple plug Monsta is talking about has only 2 wires and caused me many more problems, erratic shifting and a intermitting ABS light to name a couple. The $13 part (actually the sending unit that bolts into the pumpkin) cured all.
