Finally got 'er dirty!
coming back from the lake, the 'back way' which is a county road, dirt/gravel, no big deal. come up the the part with the bad washboarding, and theres a little orange sign, construction limit 40. so, some bumps, yay, they're fixing them, no problem, right?
okay, so it's rained a little. it's a little muddy to the first rise, off we go. we get to the second rise, and over we go, splooosh, rrrrrrrr. neither dog nor spouse happy with all the mud. we're up to the back hubs, front okay.
errm, i thought this was a county road in summer. oh well. now, everyone say 'chinese fire drill' while i hop out and lock the hubs, and off we go, up the hill. can't get worse, right?
err, well, yes, it did get a tad worse, at the next rise. this time we expected it and were prepared, and made the rise with just a bit of creative driving. then another fire drill to unlock the hubs at the top for the highway.
so, 1) i pay taxes so i can get stuck on roads i pay taxes for. 2) the gal got dirty, within 48 hours of wash and wax. this is an omen and 3) and i learned that spouse doesn't like to get out and lock hubs.
the things you learn.
