please help me...

am writing this to try and get some help for my dad...he is not computer smart and needs help as he has exhausted his searches at both the ford dealership and the library..
his truck is a ford 1985 straight six
4.9 metre engine
300 cubic metre

what he needs are pics of the dowel pins placement on that particular motor as he is trying to change the motor and has no reference books or picks of that motor...his biggerst concern is getting picks of the dowel pins placement...thanking you in advance for any help you could give

Dowel pins? Are we talking motor mounts? If so you can unbolt them from your current engine, bolt them onto the replacement engine, and drop it right in. As long as you are putting another 300 in.

Not sure what you mean by "dowel pin," so you might need to rephrase and/or elaborate. I'll check my Haynes manual and see what I find in there.

So he is trying to change the motor. Does he want to install the same type of motor, but a different year? My guess is you are looking for information on the dowel pins located on the transmission bell housing.
Get your Dad and sit him down next to the computor. These things don't bite and are not that hard to figure out these days. Get him to tell you what his problems are. This is a great resource here for him, and you.
Does he already have the replacement motor? If yes, what year?
I have a 1985.
