Full exhaust question..
Both of mine have dual gas tanks, the front tank is in the way so both pipes have to run down the passenger side. On both of mine I routed the drivers side down pipe where the stock pipe was, they cross under the bell housing if front of the tranny, theres plenty of room to tuck a pipe up in there, it keeps the pipe from hanging low.
Both of my trucks happen to be 2wd, once both pipes were side by side I was able to tuck them over the tranny cross member, I used a universal hanger on each pipe right after the cross member, it holds them in place so they don't clank around.
I didn't use a x or h pipe on either of mine, but there is plenty of room. Theres a good 3-4 feet of straight section pipe after the transmission cross members. Since both pipes sit about 6 inches away from each other it would possible to section in a small x or h pipe.
I used glasspacks on both of mine, they fit under there just fine. If you want to run a standard shaped muffler you may have to turn them so there in there facing up and down. If you cannot fit both mufflers side by side you could position one muffler ahead of the other. If your running a tuned exhaust it would be a good idea to position the drivers side muffler a couple feet ahead of the passenger side muffler, since the drivers side runs through a couple extra feet of down pipe.
When it came time to do tailpipes on my trucks for the 86 I routed both pipes out the passenger side, in front of the tire. On the 96 both pipes stick out the back, I plumbed the exhaust so the drivers side engine bank ends up out the passenger side tail pipe. This way each engine bank is exhaling through almost the same amount of pipe. If you were to route the drivers side pipe over to the other side, and then cross it back over through the drivers side tail pipe, then the drivers side engine bank would be breathing through about 5 more feet of pipe then the other side.
There's more than enough room under a 4x4 to run dual mendrel bent 2.5" pipes, 2wd should be easy.
