So I bought some injectors off ebay that were rebuilt and they have a one year warranty. I got them on my 88 bronco 5.0 and it is running, but off the get go it is sluggish. It is not missing, but it almost feels like the timing is off. So I was trying to think of wht it could be. I just un-hooked my battery so the computer can reset. Could that be it? Maybe it is getting more fuel now and it is not adjusted for it. By more fuel I mean unclogged injectors. They are 19 lbs. When I hook the battery back up I will test drive it and if that does not do it I will check the timing. I am moving away for a little while on Friday so i am kind of in a hurry to get it going. Any help would be great!
I don't think it is the injectors unless you have a few that are bad rebuilds. I swapped the injectors out in my 95 with 130,000 on it with new ones and I can't believe the difference. No power problems. I had what you have before I did the swap. I need to change my cap and rotor but so far no power problems at all and i gained 2mpg. What kind of condition are your plugs and other ignition parts in? Could also be a bad cat too.
Well the old injectors were the originals. The engine in my truck now has about 400 miles on it. I just rebuilt it and all the plugs and wires are brand new and so is my whole exhaust system. The thing is, it was running better with the old ones than the new. I e-mailed the place I bought the injectors from and they are going to send me out another set. So hopefully I get them soon and see what happens from there.
