News to me. You can get 500hp out of a chip, k&n, and exhaust!!! Check this out. ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1856498698 ) Nice truck, but a little generous on the hp.

SSSSHHHHHHHHH !!!!!! It's Monsta's SUPER QUALITY AIR he's got for sale. But you're NOT SUPPOSED TO TELL ANYONE !! Gosh-oh-dear, Monsta finds a secret and some BOZO lets the story and THEN puts his truck on E-Bay, what a SpEd, someone needs to e-mail him and tell him to ZIP IT !!
Ken 98 E-350 XLT V-10 ClubWagon. Future mods will CERTAINLY include 'Monsta-air' so I too can have 500+ HP.
I had 2 V-8 SHOs that exact color (Toreodor Red). He's in fantasy land with his mods - does not even have the intake kit, just the filter. I'm thinking the dyno might give him 350 hp on a good day if he dropped the big wheels and tires.
Well, if you start with 310hp stock, then add a chip (10%) you're at 341hp. The K&N is worth about 5hp and the Gibson about 15hp. So.. 361hp. I'm sure the rear wheel numbers are lower. I don't think even with a supercharger you'd get close to 500 hp. BTW, I think that truck is ugly..

I'm sure he added up the HP from his mods the same way you did above!
It does'nt work that way. I doubt if he has 325HP at the flywheel. Rear wheel HP would be much lower!
You're right. The numbers never do add up like we'd like. I was even trying to be conservative. I sure hope the stock HP is reasonably close to 310 at the flywheel. I'm guessing a 50-90 hp loss at the drive wheels.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 08-Sep-02 AT 05:02 PM (EST)]Unless he forgot to mention it in the ad, the only easy way I can think of to get 500 hp. is with the Whipple suppercharger that was mentioned in previous thread here. They advertise 500 hp. and 700 ft/lbs. of torque.
