no problem man, i'm glad that was the issue (well a smaller issue that originally thought to be)! glad the 2x2 tubing did the trick. it's a pretty decent fix for that issue, and it's not a total "shade tree" idea.
My experience with ford trucks (5 for a combined 1.1 million miles) is a shutter on take off is trans fluid change time. When was the last complete drain and replace. DO not go to Jiffy. Dealers with drain the converter and trans. If they only change part of it you need to get it done every 20,000 miles. Just check when your fluid was last changed and smell it on the dip stick (not fool proof).

not really the case with a carrier style (2 piece) drive shaft. not sying that woun't cause a shudder, but more than likely on a lifted SD it's the carrier bearing.
most non-lifted trucks never have the shudder. or if the bearing it's self is going out, some guys have told me that they started feeling a "clunk" durring take off, and after going threw all the ujoints they narrowed it down to the carrier bearing.
most times, and most guys will tell you a shim "kit" or a fix like mine (2x2 square tubbing) takes care of the issue! i've repaired more than a dozen trucks with the same issue.

My problem was fixed with the spacer but that is really good advice. Changing the trans fluid is something that is often neglected. Mine is due for a change and I plan on getting it done this weekend. Thanks
