This link will take you to my Superford.org registry. Click on Flowmaster and it'll take you to the sound file. It is a .wav file and about 47seconds long.
The microphone is about 8 feet away and slightly to the rear of the tailpipe.
I like it. I cut the muffler off of mine a few months ago and welded in a straight pipe. It sounds similiar but alot more tinny @ 3000 rpm. Your flowmaster sounds better.

I can't listen to it !!! The firewall I have here at work must not be letting it through !! Can you e-mail it to me Ken ? ksmith@lumber.com Thanks, (even if you can't), Ken.
>Ken, yes I will when I get home tonight! Look for it around

Yes I got it, very cool. I do see where some people have commented on the 'Indy car sound', but that does make sense. Many of the F-1 cars are V-10's and V-12's. Personally I have always loved the sound of the Ferrari V-12, and the Honda V-10 sounds quite similar. I'm really stoked now to get an exhaust system on, although I am getting 'the look' from the wife, since I've promised here a couple mods to her Zetec powered Contour SE. But she just got a very expensive wheel upgrade, and a killer CD player, so maybe I'll get just one more little, tiny, inexpensive, MUCH needed upgrade to the van before she gets anything else. I really don't mind so much sleeping in the dog house anyway on warm summer nights,,,, Ken
Sounds nice. How much gas money do we all need to contribute for that? I was revving mine like that when it was cutting it out at idle to keep it running and the computer went down to 2mpg! It's creeping up to 6 now, but I am going to top off and start over.
A local muffler shop here in Santa Clara CA, let me test a straight pipe. Flowmaster signle chanber, 40 and a 70. One out and two outlets. I brought my db meter with me to test the sound in the cab and behind the truck. I was worried the sound would echo in the cab like my pervious chevy extra cab that had the flowmaster 40. I was trying to find something louder than the magna flow that I put on 6 months ago. I went with the flowmaster 40 with duel out the sides. The shop custom bent the pipes to fit around the springs and the gas tank. He also let me test differnet tips, that change the tone of the sound. I went with the 4" slash tip. It sounds great and its not to loud in the cab.:-)
That sounds great Monsta. I am considering an exhaust mod but I am concerned about losing towing performance (torque). I know there has to be a certain amount of backpressure to keep the torque at a useable rpm. Have you exercised it after the Flowmaster mod?
I was with you on low end torque, but common opinion here and the
few syno posts we have seem to indicate that the ford headers, y pipe and cat are so restrictive that opening up the exhaust does not hurt low end and sometimes even helps power across the rpm band, hard though that may be to believe.
I have experienced no loss of low-end torque (by the seat of my pants) but DO know that the engine spools up (to use a PSD term) faster. That can only help in any "power needing" situation.
I have experienced more *umph* (to use a technical term ) above 2000 and at 3200+ this music fills my ears that makes me smile everytime it happens!!!!!!! Boy you should hear it!
When I am not listening to "that music", I have also experienced a slight overall mileage improvement. A .7 to 1.2 mpg increase.
