Sealer or no sealer?
I'm replacing the water outlet and bought a rubber gasket, should I use any sealer, and anyone got tips for the job.
This is my second attempt after the first time didn't end so well, cheap $7 dollar part broke! Thanks, Chris.

With the rubber gaskets I really don't think you'd need any type of sealer. But myself I about allway's use it on water pumps, thermostat's.

What I do is put some grey silicon on T-stat cavity at outlet, then install the T-stat inside outlet giving 30 minutes for drying. This will keep the T-stat in place while the Outlet is installed. I use silicon also on the outlet since most of the times it is totally corrode but installing a new one, the gasket should be enough.
Be sure sensitive bulb on T-stat is installed pointing inside head and if T-stat has venting hole put pointing Up.
