'00 Windstar transmission
I guess the easy stuff would be first, fluid and filter change and see what happens. I've only seen a couple that were better afterwards but it worth a shot. Next I would take it to a trans shop and have it scanned, most will do it for free. They need to take it for a short trip to see al the solenoids working ect, go with them and keep an eye on the scanner, you might be able to pick up some info. IF it has a lot of miles on it or the fluid is really burnt then a rebiuild is likely.
We'll give the fluid a try. Theres a local mech that I trust, so hopefully he can scan it or recommend a reliable tranny shop.
