I seem to recall my factory setup being identical to yours and John's then, is that normal for my 7.3 bricknose? The truck I got the intake setup that sucks through the rad support was an '87 and had the 6.9 engine in it, was that the last year they used that ducting routing before they switch to over the battery, or was my '90 for whatever reason running a '92-'94 setup when I got it at first?
im thinking about getting 2 of the stock snorkels and running them to each side of the headlights behind the grill i think by doing this you wont have to cut anything, but i havent tried it yet or looked too hard

Alternator is in the way on the passenger side, and so is the fuel filter. 460 carbed engines have an intake ducting running on the passenger side, I think it's like 3" in diameter tho, not 4" like the diesel stuff.
I'm not sure when they switched, possibly when they switched to the 7.3 which would be 88.
Wasn't switched then, at least not for the early ones. My 88 with 7.3 has the intake going under the battery and through the rad support. Confused the hell out of me reading the turbo install directions this winter. There was a section talking about removing some of the insulation or fairing or some crap by the intake/hood and I couldn't figure out what the hell the meant as the intake was sucking from much lower than the instructions mentioned.
