>Does the 40 have any performance benefit over the 70, or is the main difference just in sound level?
I'm not really qualified to answer that since I've only used the 40. Ask nickdoni! He had a 70 and pulled it off and went with a 40. I think mainly due to the quietness of the 70.
>My main concern is sound level. I don't want something that will be too loud at highway speed.
I cannot hear my exhaust on the highway. I can hear it while accelerating from a stop though. YUM!
Since my truck has no bed and is open throughout, if I cannot hear it on the highway, you should not be able to hear it in your truck either.

Watch out for the "Firestone"muffler,,,, you might just have a "BLOW OUT" Firestone Tires
Monsta is correct.I had a fm70 on my truck and it was quieter than stock. Then i went to the 40 and it made a big difference in sound.I also have duals out the back to 4in tips and that alone makes it louder but i love it.As far as the neighbors go at 4:30am thats a different thing.
By the way monsta. How are things down there on the island? All the volcanos are quiet i take it.
Just make sure you get the right 40 series Flowmaster that you are looking for. There is a difference in the original 40 series, and the Deltaflow 40 series. The original 40 series is quite a bit louder and throatier than the Deltaflow 40.
>So, which do y'all recommend, the regular FM40, or the DeltaFlow 40? I'm getting the itch to do this mod as well!
Yeah, same here! So which one guys? Also, I was also planning on going to dual exhaust so how will that affect it? (good/bad/loud/etc?) Also, any suggestions on the dual exhaust systems? (size/brand/cost/etc?) Just looking to make it sound good, not necessarily loud. (not too loud anyways I like this idea of hearing it on takeoff and not too much more on the highway! Appreciate any help and how much this is gonna cost me. Thanks guys!

ctphrb,
I have the d/f 40 and after living with it for a while the only thing I can say is it could be a bit louder. I love it when I go under an overpass or at the car wash. Either way I don't think you will be disapointed.

So does that mean you would recommend the original 40 series to make it louder? Or will the original 40 not have as nice of a sound? Thanks!
