Pickuptruck.com shootout
Im not a big dodge fan but i think there milage issues will soon be improving. The new cummins is the only engine of the big three not running at 100% rated output. I think there at 80%. So i think once they get the emissions figured out they will step to the plate with good milage and hp numbers. Just my .02
BTW....If you make your truck purchases based on what some rag tells you then deserve a Dodge. The Chevy is probably a decent enough truck but I wouldnt know and dont care. I drive a FORD and hang out on a FORD website. Go away banana smugglers!
Your pretty sensitive about the whole thing so if you want your truck to be better then I'm good with that - it can be. I never said it wasn't.

I have owned my share of Chevy diesels and Dodge diesels in my construction business and my facts are based on personal experience not a bunch of BS. Of the trucks i've owned the ford has always proven to be the best work horse of the group. Buy work horse i mean lets load it to the max, somtimes a little over to get the job done go 100,000 miles and see whats left of your truck. I dont abuse my trucks but i do use them for what they were built for. And ya im sure you got a guy on a chevy site saying his truck is the best and all the ford he has had sucked so you can take this for what it is.

I think it'll be looked at as the motor thrown out 'to keep up' with GM. And not that GM didn't have it's problems but I think it was more the perception that Ford let down a lot folks in they way they handled the whole deal. Where-as GM added an axtra 100k warranty "to some model" years for injector issues the perception was Ford tried to 'sweep' the problems under the rug.
WOW
thats funny I was never privileged to this warranty on my 2 01 duracrap's. As far as the 6.0 PSD being thrown out to compete with the Duramax, The Duramax was thrown out to keep up with the 7.3 PSD and replace the 6.5 diesel. You can thank Dodge and Ford for leaving chevy in the dust for strong reliable diesel's in the late 90's and prompting chevy to give birth to the Duramax.

GM put 200k warranty on all 01's, 02' and 03' Not sure why you would have any issues receiveing warranty work on yours.
Again I don't think I've stated anyplace in this thread that the 6.6 was any better or worse then the 6.4. Just trying to keep it somewhat realisitc. To place to much value in hp/tq ratings is a little pointless considering next year those numbers will be muted be the next model years or a differant manufacturer.
Besides if I wasn't around here who would you guys debate with? It's be some guy with a dmax to come over here and really try and bash you guys. Even though sometimes things get interesting - it's all good in the end.

Myself I welcome DMAX-HD comments, seems like he is not trying to bash but just debate. A lot of my friends have Chevy's and Dodges. We have a lot of good debates and a little ribbing when we go camping. Use to be a Chevy truck person too. Still Gm when it comes to my cars. I think it is good for the site when some one outside comes on and gives some good info to debate on. If Ford had not come out with their Super Duty in 99 I would probably be driving a Chevy. Just feel the Super Duty is a better truck for me.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
I really wanted to buy a new F-350 but I just couldn't do it after the 6.0 I have! The potential engine probs kept me from buying one. Who wants there truck in the shop that much, not me!
I have never ever ever had any vehicle in the shop as much as my 04 6.0 Ford??
