source for rebuild parts

where do you guys go for engine parts for a rebuild. I am going to need rings and bearings and gaskets and such. Oil pump rebuild kit maybe.

Parts

I obtained most rebuild parts from e-bay by shopping and bidding carefully, and knowing what the retail cost of the parts was beforehand. Savings can be significant. For instance, in the last couple days a set of cam bearings for Y sold for $15.50. Compare that to retail! Main Bearings cost me $45, compared to a couple retail prices of over $150. Parts that probably SHOULD be purchased retail are pistons (Egge only for flattops), lifters, and chrome rings. If funds allow, a roller timing chain with billet steel gears is the way to go for cam timing replacement. Installation of new cam requires new lifters. Use Felpro gaskets. One option on head gaskets is a steel head gasket. It will give something like a .2 increase in compression (8.2:1 versus 8.4:1), but requires a very good deck and head surface.
Preferred retail sources include John Mummert and NAPA.

There's a seller on eBay who seems to either be from Oz, or has good connections to Oz y-block suppliers; maddog. Also, I try to buy stuff from John Mummert. I also buy from Egge.
