Question AC settings

Just curious about the AC settings on an 04 F150 heritage. It seems that the compressor turns on when the selector is placed in the panel/floor setting, turning on the ac. Is this normal? I could not find any info in the owners manual about this. If I turn it to floor, or panel, then it is just outside air. The AC settings work as they are supposed to. If it matters, the truck is an XLT with the 4.6 liter engine.
Thanks

its normal. the AC compressor is kicked on about 1/2 of the settings so it will keep the compressore lubed, and dry the air that is blown inside. i dont know every position, but i thought it was listed in most of the operators manuals.---- its normal.

I think the compressor runs at temps above 50 degrees in every position except for "floor".

I had a 95 F150, with ac, but I could not recall how often the compressor kicked on. Steve, you're probably right that it is in the manual, i just did not find it (didn't look too closely though). Thanks for the help.

The compressor will run in every position except OFF, PANEL and FLOOR.
