99 ranger flashing
Hi i have a 99 ranger the other day the abs light came on and then the o/d light started flashing. and the transmission don't want to shift. fluid is good had it changed a while back. pulls good just dont want to change you can shift manualy and it shifhts hard. has anyone else had this problem.thanks for any help anyone can give.

You first need to replace the rear ABS speed sensor. It attaches to the top of the rear differential with one bolt. An inexpensive part and very straightforward DIY repair. Hopefully that'll do it.

Hi thanks for reply i replaced the abs speed sensor today. abs light went out but transmission still shifting hard and it has a little jerk in overdrive. o/d light still flashing i noticed the odomeder is not working and i was driving it home after a test drive turned on parking lights and the o/d light stoped flashing. it seemed to stop jerking to. someone told me it could be in the steering colum it has tilt steering. something about shorting out in the colum? thanks for any reply on this.
