Question Injector Rebuild

Howdy, Does anyone have any info on How to Rebuild a Powerstroke Injector?
What is the most common part to Fail?
Calibration Instructions?
2003 7.3L AD-Injectors.
When performing Injector Buzz Test, 5-7-8 are not as loud as the others.
Cylinder Contribution Test says 8 is not contributing enough.
Thanks in advance

Are you having performance issues or just basing this off of a test? What was the #8 velocity change? Mine is a LL injector and as it fires right after the 6 it always shows velocity dropoff.

At idle, engine runs rough, especially when cold. When it heats up to operating temp, it runs much better, but still has a miss, which gives it a loping sound. I have replaced 3 Injectors so far and it gets better everytime. Before replacing any injectors, it would not start. Now it starts good, but still has a miss.

Have you tried replacing the under valve cove harness' with the new upgraded harness with the better locking mechanism?

Just a thought before you spend that much money.

Yep, Secure Connections

I have secured the connections UVC, with a Quarter without George Washingtons Forehead, It holds pretty snug.

Anymore Suggestions?

Yep, what are your contribution #s and how were they obtained? How many miles on the truck? You may have a fuel or HPO problem that will not be fixed with injectors. Not saying that is the case but it would suck to replace good parts.

Cylinder Contribution and Buzz Test

I use AutoEnginuity. I will run the test in a little while and post the results.

Wow. I see what you mean with that #8 stick. Mine shows about 3, + - 0.2 while testing.

It is a Long Lead injector that they began using around 00 or 01 (I think) IOT reduce cackle or knock in the #8 because of the fuel feed design and the firing order. A lot of folks have replaced it with the regular unit.
