4.9 Intake Manifold
Why is it I cannot find a OEM replacement (new) intake manifold for my 1985 4.9L engine? I have found an Offenhauser polished aluminum intake, very expensive. I can find exhaust manifolds out the wazoo. What gives?

Yes. It cracked right where one of the bolts mount it to the head. Now at about 65 mph it wants to whistle. As soon as I slow down it stops or if I acclerate it stops only until I back off and the vacuum returns in the engine. Frustrating.

I bought one from the internet and was prepping it for installation and I found a big crack right in the collection chamber. They aren't that easy to R&R and I'm afraid to buy a used one and have the same problem. (See post #4)

call around to places that work with industrial pumps and irrigation supplies. ALOT of field pumps use the 300 and all of them are either LPG or carbureted (both of which use the carbureted manifold).
They'll either be able to get you a good used one or possibly point you to a new one.

hey man look all ever build is straight six's i love the 300 i got one pumping 850 horses its a beeeeast
look i got a brand new stock intake and exhaust manifold both ported and includes the metal egr hose and egr spacer new gaskets and everything no cracks gauranteed and its all bolted together
ill sell u the bolt on set for $40.00 + shipping and i can have it out first thing monday morning

850 horses. That's amazing! I would like to do that to my machine. I just love that 300 engine. People ask me what engine. I tell a six. They kind of go "oh". i don't thinkg realize it's an awful big six.

and i dont know if it interests u or not but i got a single barrel here right next to it that i only ran for about 2 weeks before selling my first 80" and i bought the carb new
and there aint a damn thing wrong with it and i go the base gasket for it so i could send u the whole damn set up for 80 plus the shipping if u might wanna do that
