What are the best kind to buy? I am sick of opening my window a lil bit and water pouring in when it is raining. And soon it is going to lead to killing my switches on the door panel cause its all going on there.
If you are looking for in-channel deflectors, EGR and WeatherTechs seem to be pretty common on here. I bought the EGR's first, but one window wouldn't roll-up all the way, even after two weeks. Then I ordered the WeatherTechs and it rolls up all the way. The WeatherTechs will run you about $20 more for the complete set of 4 pieces, but I was told they are also a little better quality.
I am running the EGR in channel style and not a big fan of this style. They are working now and don't fall out, but it took about a month for them to settle in right.
I had the self-adhevise ones on my 2000 F350 and they worked better and didn't destroy the paint when i remved them.
If i was to buy again, i would get the self adhesive kind, and from weather tech or egr, both seem to be comparable.
I have the EGR In-channels on my 04' SC. I really like them. They wrap around the front of the window too so rain does not get blown in when you have the window cracked. I've had mine for 3 years and so far still work and look good. The EGR for the Super Cab are a little larger than the EGRs my dad has on his Crew Cab. Mine wedge themselves in the window good so they won't fall out.
The front two slide in with the windows down and are held in place by themselves. The back two slide in as well and are held in place with a thin piece of double sided tape. Takes about 5 minutes to install.
My old truck had stick on with double sided tape. I didnt like them. The one broke because I paid someone to clean it and they snapped the back on right off. and i had to get the tape off to put a new one on.
I have the in channel ones on my 2007 Tahoe and they are great, (plus the ones for the hoe stick to the paint above the window, and that aint gonna happen)when I tried them on the Superduty they did not stay in place and the window would not shut completely.
So for the superduty I use the self adhesive kind, from weather tech or egr, both seem to be comparable. They stick to the rubber moulding along the top of the window so no paint damage.
