So the oil pressure switch was the problem, somehow oil traveled through the switch then through the connection, out of the connection down the pump into the valley and to the ground. who knew. thanks for all the help out there whole lot of good teachers.

Cps?

<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top width="100%">I have a oil leak just like you talk about..hard to see where its from cause of the fan..I have oil all around the water pump..
</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>I looked at mine the other night while installing my new exhaust (yay) and saw drips off the pan and the water pump also....I have one of those valves on my oil pan I installed.(forgot name of it) (AM towing my 24' enclosed trailer full of daughter stuff to college tomorrow)...will be good to check out the exhaust. Thought at first I didn't install tight enough...So CPS maybe? I have had the dealer replace my HPOP and the fuel valve repair by an extended warranty a few miles before the warranty expired. The valley is still clean. I haven't replaced the CPS yet on mine...has 95k, but someone else previous owner? may have already. I have a spare in glove box, guees I could check it out. Was that your problem ...the CPS?

No my problem was on the top end, foword and on top of the HPOP there is a res for that pump. on top of the pum is an oil pressure switch that somhow got cracked and oil was going from there to the valley. How much oil is yours leaking?

My reply was directed at "ron's powerstroke" reply. His quote on the CPS...not enough of a leak to affect anything...just a drippy mess. I think I will look closer at the oil sensor like yours or around there. What a drag...I hate oil leaks also. I hadn't looked under the hood for a while..and changed to a company truck daily so I don't drive my personal truck everyday like I did. It is on the waterpump housing and above that. I was concerned with the exhaust system only ---since I have to tow tomorrow, and didn't look too hard at the oil problem. Will look this evening.
